As we welcomed Nepali New Year 2082, we were honored to host an unforgettable evening filled with music, culture, and community spirit.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bartika Eam Rai for gracing the Sudbury stage with her soulful voice and poetic storytelling. Her performance brought magic to the night, and we’re especially thankful she made time to be with us before heading straight to the U.S. for her next concert the very next day.

A special thank-you to Bartika’s incredible team:

  • 🎸 Diwas Gurung – For his powerful guitar work and the crowd-favorite surprise song Maachi Kadaile.
  • 🥁 Yugal Gurung – For energizing the room with Afno Sansaar and his dynamic drumming.
  • 🎵 Thile Thakali on bass and Ashish Pathak for managing sound so seamlessly. Your contributions elevated the entire experience.

We also want to thank our amazing audience—especially the students who joined us right after their exams and the fans who traveled from North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, London, Cambridge, and Toronto. Your presence and energy made the evening truly memorable.

Thank you to the Place des Arts team—Andrea, Matt, and Jefferey—for your exceptional support behind the scenes.

And of course, this event wouldn’t have been possible without our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and creative content creators who helped bring everything together.

From all of us at Gurkha Events, thank you again for being part of this celebration—and Happy New Year 2082!
We can’t wait to bring you more experiences that uplift Nepali culture and talent in Canada.
